Wickhambreaux church history
The church occupies a central position at the heart of the village. It is a medieval building, originating in 13th century, and subject to major renovation in Victorian times, and again recently (2003-04).
It is noted for the fine East window (1896) designed by Arild Rosenkrantz and dedicated to the memory of Countess Gallatin by her son. 
The recent restoration was undertaken to restore sections of the tower, various stonework window tracery, interior decoration and refurbish the fine Forster & Andrews organ ( for the first time since it was installed in 1879).
One notable feature of the churchyard is the headstone of Squadron Leader David Maltby DSO DFC, of 617 Dambusters Squadron, who lived in the village and was killed when his aircraft was lost off Lincolnshire in 1943.
